I graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Secondary Education with a major in biology and a minor in mathematics. I received a master’s in Secondary Teaching from Grand Valley State University and earned a doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. I taught Biology, Algebra, Forensic Science, and Anatomy & Physiology at Grand Rapids Public Schools for 20 years. I was awarded the State of Michigan Teacher of the Year in 2013 where I had the privilege to represent the hard-working teachers in our state. In September of 2018, I joined the Godwin Heights High School team as an Instructional Coach, and in 2021 accepted a new position as District Data Support Specialist. I truly believe that great things can be accomplished when we all work together toward a common goal and look forward to seeing all that the Godwin community can accomplish!
