Sam Plakmeyer
I graduated in 2007 from Cornerstone University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Bible. Later, I gained my social studies teaching degree in 2009 from Calvin College. In 2015, I received my graduate degree in Urban Education from Davenport University. My work experience as a teacher started with Grand Rapids Public Schools. My first year I had the opportunity to be a Response to Intervention (RtI) teacher where I helped out in core content subjects and helped implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). Then the next four years with Grand Rapids Public Schools, I moved into the social studies classroom and taught U.S. History, World History, African-American History, Latin American History, Economics, and Government various years. In 2015, I was excited to join Godwin Heights High School. I have instructed World History, Government, and Economic classes. I enjoy building relationship with students, seeing students engage with social studies content, and attending their extra-curricular events. Go Wolverines! #godwinfamily
