My name is Mr. Thomas Jesser. I earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Grand Valley State University in 2001 where I majored in History and Political Science. I earned my Masters Degree in 2009 in History and Secondary Education. I am currently working on my PhD at Western Michigan University where I am focusing on the eugenics movement and organized labor during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I started teaching at Godwin Heights High School in 2003. Since then, I have taught World History, US History, American Government, and Current Issues. I’m passionate about history and work to challenge students to engage with the past to understand America today. I live in Allendale with my wife and two children. We love cheering on Wolverine football, basketball, and volleyball together! Parents and students should check the US History Website often. This site contains valuable information concerning what students are doing on a daily basis.
